Milled Tissue Mulberry Paper / Saa Paper

Superfine 15gsm mulberry tissue paper that is made from the same raw materials as our code 0112 handmade tissue paper, but which is machine made on a mill. This paper is quite unlike the commercial tissue papers that you are used to seeing and is much more similar to a handmade paper.

Our milled papers are made on a classic Fourdrinier type paper milling machine combined with a "Yankee" cylinder for drying. We use exactly the same raw materials (mulberry or saa) for our milled papers as for our handmade papers, but their appearance is more uniform and their consistency much denser, due to the drying and pressing process.

Milled mulberry paper from Thailand is also known in Japan as unryu and this name is occasionally used in the USA and Europe too.

After production of a large roll the milled paper is cut to exact sizes. Please note that in addition to our standard wrapping paper size of 50x50cm (20"x20"), we can also supply you in any cut size up to 130cm (51") wide and any length. We can also supply milled mulberry paper in rolls of any length up to 2,000 metres. For made-to-order cut sheets and rolls the minimum order is 2,000 metres per colour.
